Werner Englert and Nico Halfmann on saxophone, sousaphone player Johannes Büttner, percussionist Pape Dieye and drummer Ro Kuijpers make up the Black Forest Brass Company.
 
The five musicians live in the Freiburg area, but musically they are at home all over the world. Their stage is always in the middle of the audience. The quintet promises music you can touch and join in with. Carried by elements of jazz, funk and klezmer, the band offers thrilling brass music driven by Ro Kuijpers and Pape Dieye's virtuoso percussion. Even a simple folk song becomes an exuberantly virtuosic musical experience that is impossible to resist.
